Season’s Greetings! I hope that you are enjoying this time of year, and that this note finds you in good health and spirits.
As I write this, I am feeling a deep sense of gratitude for you, my clients, and an appreciation for all the work that you do. I like to tell people, “I give to those who give to many.” I am also grateful for the joys that my work gives me. One of my favorite things about being a massage therapist is seeing the transformation people undergo as their tension and pain is released, and seeing how they lighten, relax and visibly glow when they leave the table.
As you know, over the last few years, I have been able to donate money to several charitable organizations. In January, I plan to donate a portion of my massage revenue to an organization called Dining for Women (DFW). This organization recently came to my attention when I attended a lecture given by its founder. I have since had the opportunity to attend several dinners. DFW uses an unique model of dinner giving circles that meet to “dine in” together, sharing food they have brought. The groups collect the money they would have spent had they eaten at a restaurant and donate it to carefully selected international programs each month. In this way, DFW funds grass-roots programs in education, healthcare, vocational training, micro-credit loans, and economic development. These programs aim to improve the living situations of women and their families, by providing the tools they need to make changes.
January would be a perfect time to come in for a treatment, especially if I haven’t seen you in a while. You will be doing something beneficial for yourself while you simultaneously invest in programs that make a meaningful difference for women and girls living in extreme poverty.
If you wish to suggest candidates for future giving, I would be happy to hear your ideas for other organizations that you hold dear to your hearts.
This holiday season, you might consider passing along the “glow” and giving a gift certificate for a massage. I have beautiful gift certificates available for 60- and 90-minute sessions, as well as for Thai massage. Please contact me to arrange purchase and pick-up. Wishing you happy holidays and hope to see you soon.
Happy New Year!
